Space Planning - Why it’s important!
Space planning - is creating a functional layout where the spaces within your room commingle seamlessly - it is the core of any interior design.
This involves utilizing of all available space in the efficient and effective manner according to the client’s special needs and requirements.
To do this we create a floor plan! A floor plan is a drawing or visual representation of a space from a bird’s eye view. It is drawn to scale with the actual measurements of the space, including walls, windows, and openings
Without space planning, you can end up with a poorly designed space that is awkward and even frustrating to be in.
Mor Furniture - Designer Series - Part 2
This is part two of the Mor Furniture Designer Series with the Gia Round Dining Set.
It’s perfect for those smaller spaces but still functional for everyday life. The gray upholstery and dark wood finish complement many different styles and I chose to pair it with the Skyy Media Console in Teal for a nice pop of color. Bringing in the natural and organic elements with the Panchali Clock and abstract wall art makes this whole space cozy yet elegant.
Mor Furniture - Designer Series
MOMENTS // The Making of a Living Room... I recently partnered with MOR Furniture in their Designer Series to style two beautiful sets! This is PART 1 - Meet the Hughes Sofa! Made from soft Italian leather, this cozy couch is also a QUEEN SLEEPER SOFA! It's perfect for those "lounging around" days or cozy movie nights.
How to Measure Your Space
Today, there’s several apps you can use with your phone to create floor plans. Typically, they use your phone’s camera to scan a room, which takes the measurements to create a floor plan. These are not always as accurate as the good old tape measure, paper and pencil technique.
